We always try to keep it current and fresh here at the Curvy Spot. So today I decided to introduce a new curvy model on the scene. She’s recently been featured in Rue 107 and Nakimuli advertising campaigns for their plus collections and I must say her pictures are HAWT! Here is my interview with Essie Golden.

NR: Are there any Plus size models you look up to?
EG: Mia Amber, Jeannie Ferguson, Toccara, Denise Bidot, Tara Lynn and Fluvia Lacerda

NR: How long have you been modeling?
EG: On again off again for two years but I really pursued it about four months ago.

NR: What has been your favorite experience modeling so far?
EG: I would have to say doing the two campaigns for Rue107 and Nakimuli. Both of these brands catered to plus size women but never had plus size models on their site. I was their first, so it was a big moment for me being able to represent plus size women in beautiful clothes.

NR:What is your dream photo shoot?
EG: I would love to do something super edgy and colorful. People see my look and they think it’s commercial or very glamor. I want to do something completely opposite of me.

NR: What is your biggest regret?
EG: I would say not pursing modeling years ago. I was too afraid I couldn’t do it. I let my insecurities stop me from pursing my dreams.

NR: Do you have any other interest fashion industry?
EG: Styling, designing graphic t shirts and maybe having my own blog.

NR: Where you given any advice when you first started?
EG:Yes. Model wherever you can, get your face seen as much as possible and if it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. Work hard and don’t let the word “no” stop you from anything. Mia Amber said it took her six open before her agency even took a meeting with her, and during that time she was building her portfolio and working on her own. Sometimes you have to create your own path before people notice you.

NR: Anything else you think we should know or you want to share?
EG: I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported, prayed and wished me well. You actions are making my dreams come true and it means more to me than words can express. Go hard for your dreams and never give up, your time is coming. Thank you thecurvyspot.com for my first interview as a plus model.
