For me, one of the most phenomenal things about being a blogger is the straight no chaser conversations that you can have with your peers and brands.  On Wednesday, Meaghan from Little Lime Dress (LLD) & I had the opportunity to have a heartfelt fashion conversation with the team from Mynt 1792 in their mid-town Manhattan showroom.

If you followed the news from FFFWeek, you already know that Mynt 1792 is a contemporary lifestyle brand that has found itself under the Adorn Fashion family.  With the rich design techniques of Project Runway’s Kevin Christiana and the manufacturing genius that has led Adorn to the top of its game, this brand will definitely be setting itself apart from what is already being offered to plus-size women who are looking to add stylish fun-loving staple pieces to their wardrobe.

“It is the little details of your garments that will give you the cutting edge plus-size women are looking for”

Meaghan told the Mynt 1972 team during our visit on Wednesday.  I must agree, she is correct.  MYNT 1792 will bring life to the curvy girl denim.  Their cuts are designed for the curvy girl in mind.  The collection offers you funky denim washes from a 1970s vintage to  deep hued rinsed that will be killa with some platform pumps!  I’m talking stitching details, pearlized buttons, color block, animal print… and this was before we even saw the outer wear!

Check out the snippet from #teamMYNT’s interview with Meaghan & I… notice anything different?

MYNT: Who’s your favorite style icon?

Kim: Amber Riley from Glee.  “I love that little girl!”  She always looks amazing on the red carpet.
Meaghan: Emma Stone, she’s always well styled and wears a lot of McQueen.

MYNT: What’s kept your attention span lately?

Kim: 20 to 30 blog subscriptions.  A few of her favorites are Style Pantry, Make-Up & Goddesses and Gorgeous In Grey.
Meaghan: Loves the magazines. Her three choice magazines are Vogue, Elle and Glamour.

MYNT: What’s the best part of your job?

Kim: Getting to see what’s going on behind the brand, knowing when clothes will hit the selling floor and being able to plan outfits to events accordingly.
Meaghan: The privilege of having early knowledge as to what’s being designed.

MYNT: What’s your best style advice?

Kim:  Color is your friend.  You can wear the same fun colored clothing item more than once as long as you style it differently each time.
Meaghan: Don’t wear ten trends at once, the key is moderation.

MYNT: What advice would you have given yourself when you started out?

Kim: Consistency and give your own unique spin to what you do.
Meaghan: Remain true to yourself and stick to it.

I have to admit, it was a lot of fun to be on the other side of the Q&A session.  It also gave Meaghan & I a chance to learn some interesting facts about each other.  And I even had the opportunity to turn her into my personal human dress-up doll!  From the looks of these snapshots – I really don’t think she minded at all.
